June L. Ford, 95, Bismarck, passed away on September 29, 2022, in a local hospital. 

June will be having 2 funerals. The 1st service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, at First Lutheran Church, 800 N Seventh St., Bismarck, ND. Services provided by Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.

The 2nd service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 6, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1821 Ninth Ave. West, Williston.  Services provided by Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home, Williston.

Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services at the church.

Burial will be held at Riverview Cemetery, Williston, ND.

June Lorraine Thompson was born in Williston, ND, on June 1, 1927, to Christ and Florence (Monson) Thompson.  She was born in the front bedroom of the house her father built.  She worked at the Krause Drug as a soda jerk when she was in high school. After graduation in 1945 she went to work at the weather bureau in Williston.  She met Henry Ford while she was working at the weather bureau and they were married on October 26, 1946, and for 54 years until his death in 2001.  Together they had 5 children. They moved to Slayton, Minnesota, the hometown of Henry in 1950. In 1954, they moved back to Williston.

June worked for the ASC office, Stockman Motors, Creighton Motors and was the Williams County Treasurer from 1976 until her retirement in 1991. She enjoyed helping at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, of which she was a charter member and served as their First Secretary.  She discovered a new hobby in quilting after her retirement and made many very beautiful quilts for her family.  She moved to Bismarck, ND, in the fall of 2011 to be close to her family.  She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and whist with her children and grandchildren right up to the end.  She would frequently break out in song whenever something reminded her of a song.  She also enjoyed reading books and going to the movies.

She is survived by her five children, Sheila (Darrell) Christianson of Bismarck, ND, Diane (Michael) Childress of Kingsport, TN, Henry L. (Rhonda) Ford, Jr. of Bismarck, ND, Michael (Edwina) Ford of Williston, ND, and Chris (Jean) Ford of Bismarck, ND;  12 grandchildren AND 21 great-grandchildren,  her first great-great-grandchild will be born in January;  her sister, Mary Borrud of Williston; and sister-in-law, Mae Thompson, also of Williston, ND; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; father, Christ Thompson; mother, Florence Thompson; two brothers, Donald and Richard (Dick) Thompson; and her close cousin, Dorothy Berce.
