Teresa was born October 15, 1960, in Moorhead, MN to John and Carole (Kennedy) Mooridian. She dedicated her professional life to the service of others, most recently as a nurse at The Baptist Home.
The Family lived in a variety of locations from Bemidji, MN to Eugene, OR, before eventually settling in Jamestown, ND. Teresa graduated from Jamestown High School in 1978, before moving on to nursing education in Wahpeton at the State School of Science and at Mary College in Bismarck.
She was always a very hard and ambitious worker, as she worked in health care at the Jamestown Hospital while attending high school, which fueled her passion for nursing.
She started a career at The Baptist Home in Bismarck in 1980, as well as working as a waitress part time. In 1983, she met her Husband Paul and they eventually married in 1986. Shortly after they moved to Regina, Saskatchewan to start an agricultural equipment distribution business. Teresa ran the office, showroom and warehouse doing the work of two people while her husband traveled.
She and her husband, Paul, had three children while living in Regina. Daniel Allen in 1989, Matthew John in 1991 and Jennifer Carole in 1993. She also helped raise her husband Paul’s, daughters, Vanessa full – time and Jill during the summer. Despite working a very demanding job while raising her young children, she never complained even if she was up most of the night. Her heart was so full of love to give, it went out to everyone she knew.
Teresa and family returned to Bismarck in 2004, primarily to be closer to aging parents and assist with their care. After obtaining a new nursing certification, she returned to nursing at The Baptist Home in 2009. During her time there she was the recipient of numerous awards, from Caregiver of The Year for North Dakota in 2016, Best of The Best, #1 nurse in 2020, to a recent Best of The Best for favorite nurse, from a Bismarck Tribune poll. She leaves many wonderful residents who were in her care and their families along with many fantastic coworkers and friends who showed her unwavering love and support during her recent adversity.
Teresa lived for family and friends. She loved to host large parties and was known as ”The hostess with the mostess,” always going above and beyond to ensure everyone felt happy, healthy and loved.
Teresa was everyone’s biggest supporter, always encouraging others and cheering them on. She never missed a sporting event or activity that her children had. Teresa shouldered a huge responsibility, having two sons who grew up in traveling hockey, and a daughter in numerous sports activities.
A scholarship fund: ”Teresa Andre Nursing Scholarship of Excellence” has been established by The Baptist Home in her honor. It will be awarded to Baptist Home staff members involved in making a difference in a giving nature outside of work. The scholarship is about Teresa’s giving nature continuing.
