Geraldine Strandberg, 91, Minot and formerly of Douglas died on Monday, October 3, 2022 in a Minot healthcare center.

Geraldine Gerda Schieve was born on August 27, 1931 on a farm near Douglas, ND to Ferdinand and Natalie (Kastner) Schieve. She was raised on the family farm, attended school in Douglas and graduated from Douglas High School. As a young adult she was employed at Bray’s Cleaners and as a sanitizer in the Trinity Hospital Lab.

Geraldine married Donald Strandberg August 21, 1952 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church – Minot. They made their home in Minot where Geraldine was a fulltime wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and especially enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, reading, walking and needlework. Donald died on November 18, 2010.

Geraldine’s loving family includes her children: Connie Strandberg, Pamela (Rick) Pierson and Dan Strandberg (Kelly Dillon) all of Minot and Janelle Aieta of Westfield MA; grandchildren: Emily (David) Tietze, Matthew (Rachel) Pierson, Benjamin (Joe) Strandberg, Willa Aieta and Callum Aieta; great grandsons: Dexter and Axel Pierson; sister: Lavona (Marven) Getzlaff of Minot, in-laws: Shirley Schieve of Minot, William Strandberg of Topock AZ and Judy (William) Ward of Chandler AZ and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings: Paul Schieve, LaVerne Wagner, Gerhart Schieve, Myrtle Beaudoin, Arnold Schieve, Alfred Schieve, Ervin Schieve and Laura Jones.

Funeral Service: Friday, October 7, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church – Minot.
Interment will be in Rosehill Memorial Park – Minot.
Visitation: Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home – Minot.
Memorials are preferred to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
