Lowell B. Larson, 93, Minot died on Monday, September 26, 2022 in his home with his loving family at his side.

Lowell Bryan Larson was born on March 30, 1929 in Minot to Louis and Aletta (Watne) Larson.  He was raised in Minot, graduated from Minot Model High School in 1947 and from North Dakota State University in 1951.  He was drafted into the United States Army on October 11, 1951 and served in the 3rd Armored Division in Germany until his honorable discharge as a Corporal on October 10, 1953.  He returned to North Dakota and began his career with the Federal Land Bank Association of Williston in 1954. 

Lowell married Rita Pederson on February 14, 1958 at Chain Lake Lutheran Church near Churchs Ferry, ND.  They made their home in Minot where they were the proud parents of Perry, Randine and Lisa.  Lowell worked for the Federal Land Bank Office in Minot for 31 years and retired as the President and Chief Executive Officer of that entity in July of 1985.  Also, Lowell operated a hobby farm on the west edge of Minot where the Wee Links Golf Course is currently located.

Lowell was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church – Minot, served on its Board, ushered and taught Sunday School.  He was a former member of the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge and American Legion.  His hobbies and special interests included fishing, reading, restoring old tractors, and working on the farm.

Lowell’s loving family includes his wife of 64 years: Rita; children: Perry (Rose) Larson, Randine (Doug) Hillstrom and Lisa Larson; grandchildren:  Bridget (Erik) Engelbrektson, Anna Larson, Hunter (Hayley) Hillstrom and Anders Hillstrom; great grandchildren:  Henrik, Lars and Marin Engelbrektson; inlaws:  Bonnie Larson and Edith Codding; godsons: Mark Larson and Paul Johnson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, infant granddaughter: Bethany Larson and siblings:  LeRoy Larson, Ottine Durand, Doris Carlson, Allen Larson and Esther Rost.

Celebration of the Life of Lowell B. Larson:  Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in Christ Lutheran Church – Minot. To view a livestream of the service access: https://vimeo.com/event/2462888
Interment will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery – rural Mandan.
Visitation: Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home – Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Christ Lutheran Church or the Caring Edge Hospice.
