Evernne Ann Novodvorsky, 87, Minot, formerly of Douglas, died Friday, September 16, 2022 in a Minot assisted living center.

Evernne was born December 3, 1934 to Lawrence and Beatrice (Spensley) Shaw in Makoti, ND. She was raised and educated in Makoti, attending Wabek and Hiddenwood schools and graduated from Makoti High School in 1952. Evernne attended college in the summer at Minot Teacher’s College and taught at Shealey Township School for a year. She worked at Montgomery Insurance for one summer.

Evernne was united in marriage to John Novodvorsky, Jr. on November 28, 1953 in Douglas, ND. They made their home on the Novodvorsky family farmstead in Hilton Township, where they raised small grains and cattle. She worked alongside her husband in the fields until retirement, running the combine during harvest and always had a prepared meal for family to enjoy.

Evernne was a member of Calvary Chapel, rural Sawyer, ND, First Assembly of God (now Journey Church), Minot and Calvary Church in Ryder, ND. She was involved in many church groups, that included Women’s Missionary Council (WMC) and teaching Sunday School. Evernne served on school and election boards, in the 4-H Club and the Billings County Historical Society. She enjoyed quilting, canning, embroidery, traveling, reading and collecting salt and pepper shakers.

Evernne’s loving family includes her loving husband of 68 years, John, Jr. children John III (Brenda) Novodvorsky, Douglas, Evernne (Michael) Meier, Minot, Jason (Brenda) Novodvorsky, Douglas, Evette (Mitch) Melby, Minot and Evonne (Franklin) Booker, Minot; grandchildren  Sheri Lang, Jana (Kevin) Frederick, Shane (Jami) Novodvorsky, Kris (Christopher) Kubal, David (Amanda) Novodvorsky, Alyssa Swiney and Sara Tickerhoof; great-grandchildren Brindle and Lauren Kubal, Karina and John Frederick, Tate and Miranda Novodvorsky, Cheyenne and Tucker Lang, Gavyn, Gabriel and Harper Tickerhoof; her ‘Summer’ son and Nephew Macklin Halsted, Fairfield, CA; siblings Gary (Jo) Shaw, Kerkhoven, MN, Curtis (Cathy) Shaw, Crosby, ND, Edna Zenz, Minot and Margaret Lange, Elk River, MN; sisters-in-law Ursula Shaw, Parshall, Kay Novodvorsky, Bemidji, MN and Irene Novodvorsky, St. Paul, MN and brother-in-law Phillip Novodvorsky, Long Beach, CA along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Evernne was preceded in death by her precious angel babies, parents, brothers Harold, Russell, Victor, Boyd, and Warren and sisters Bonnie Hansen and Nelda Fitzgerald.

Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot
Visitation: Thursday, September 22, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials are preferred to Minot Youth For Christ.
