Robert Dale Kapfer, 80, of Washburn, ND, passed away on July 20, at St. Aloisius Nursing Home, Harvey, ND.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Anamoose, ND. Burial will be at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery, Anamoose, ND.
Robert was born on March 5, 1942, to Harold and Minnie (Rice) Kapfer in Anamoose, ND. He grew up on the family farm south of Anamoose. Robert attended country school and then graduated from Anamoose High School. He enjoyed football and basketball playing for the Anamoose Royals. After graduation he worked construction in the Anamoose area, including the construction of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Robert went to California and there he met the love of his life Carol Auger. They spent most of their married life in Palmdale, CA. When he retired, he and Carol moved back to North Dakota buying a home in Washburn. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Robert is survived by his daughters: Tammy Gigante, Washburn, Shelley (David) Greene, Rigby, ID; grandchildren, Craig, Michael, Kit, and Mandi; great grandsons, David, Brison, Sterling, Hudson, and Cory; great granddaughters, Avery, Audrey, and Raedyn; sister, Eileen McDermott, Anamoose; brothers, James (Sharon) Kapfer and Donald (Jewel) Kapfer, Oakes, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Carol; son, Michael (Susan) Kapfer; and grandson, Robert Evans.
