Daphne “Dean” Iszler, Bismarck, passed away on July 21, 2022, and is together again with her husband, Thilmer. Dean, as everyone called her, requested no public services. A private family graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Steele.

Daphne Dean, daughter of Vince and Faye (Hargrave) Wamsley, was born on October 15, 1929. She attended Steele High School and after graduating in 1947, she worked for a short time at the Register of Deeds office in Steele. Dean moved to Bismarck and was employed at the State Hail Insurance Department.

In 1948 she married Thilmer Iszler, son of Gottlieb and Mary Iszler of Streeter. Thilmer had worked with his dad and decided to continue the family farm and changed the grain operation to mostly raising cattle. Dean and Thilmer were members of the United Methodist Church and were involved with many community and church affairs. Together they had three sons, Dennis, Douglas, and a stillborn son. Thilmer and Dean moved to Bismarck in 1995 to enjoy retirement and became members of Legacy United Methodist Church.

Dean was loved by many, and her strong-willed personality will be missed.

She is survived by her son, Doug (Sheila) and granddaughters, Kristin, Elizabeth, Laura, Nicole, and Natasha.

Dean is preceded in death by her husband and son, Dennis.
