Rebecca “Becky” Huston

February 5, 1989 – June 30, 2022

Rebecca “Becky” Huston, 33, Garrison, died on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Trinity Hospital in Minot.  Private family services will be held.  A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, from 9 am to 11 am at Thompson Funeral Home in Garrison.  Burial will be at the Garrison City Cemetery.

Becky was born February 5, 1989, to Steve and Brenda (Metz) Huston.  She was raised and educated in Garrison, graduating from Garrison High School in 2007.

Oh, our beautiful Becky.  You truly did love life.  Becky loved nature and being outdoors.  She loved hunting, watching the clouds, the stars, sunsets, and a really good storm.  She would just stand outside after the storm just to smell the rain.  She also loved flowers and took wonderful care of them at the motels.  She would glow when the guests would compliment her on how beautiful they looked. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone.  She always looked after us and made sure we were well taken care of, especially her brother Joe, whom she loved unconditionally.  The closeness they shared always brought joy to our family.  When Joe married Tamara, she became Becky’s sister, not a sister-in-law.

As we all do, Becky had many struggles in life.  But she never gave up and she fought until she won even though the outcome sometimes broke her heart.  She loved little kids and when she worked at the school she would always tell us how much fun she had.  Some of Becky’s favorite times were spent with family and friends, whether it was family events, holidays, or just hanging out at the lake.

Becky thoroughly enjoyed ham and cheese omelets, hashbrowns covered in lots of syrup, mashed taters and gravy (extra, extra gravy) and hot beef sandwiches (yes, extra, extra gravy).  And of course we can’t forget the two-cheeseburger meal at McDonald’s with large fries and 20-piece chicken nuggets.  10 nuggets for her and 10 for her beloved dog, Samson.  Her late-night snacks included Oreos and milk and peanut M&M’s.  Her favorite movie was Pearl Harbor and she loved “Good Girls” and “Ozark”.

Becky’s favorite thing to do was to snuggle with her best friend Samson.  Becky saved Samson and gave him so much love it just poured out of him.  We only wish we could have saved Becky like she saved him.  The outpour of love that has been sent in Becky’s honor has been amazing.  We wish Becky would have realized how many friends she really did have.  She leaves us with a heartache that will never heal but she will be in our hearts forever.  She was truly one of our precious gifts.  We miss her so much.

Becky is survived by her parents, Steve and Brenda Huston; brother, Joe (Tamara) Huston, beloved dog Samson; maternal grandmother, Ramona Mautz, paternal grandmother, Gloria Huston; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
