Betty J. Schweitzer, 86, Richardton, died on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at her home. Betty’s Celebration of Life Service will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Pastor Mike Pretzer as officiant.
Betty Jo Manning was born on February 23, 1936 in Sayre, Oklahoma, the daughter of Windle Verbon and Johnnie Mae (Wilkerson) Manning.
Betty married Add Reese and they were married for 32 years, together they raised champion paints and quarter horses.
In 2005 she met and married Bill Schweitzer and they lived in the hills of Clovis, CA until Bill passed away in 2020. Together they enjoyed taking care of their beautiful home, landscaping, growing flowers and trees. Bill was the love of her life.
She enjoyed working in the yard, visiting with her sister, Darlene, visiting casinos, decorating for Christmas and taking trips with Bill.
Betty was a member of The Church of God and was baptized in McFarland, CA.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Patricia “Pat” Disrud, Richardton and Katherine Scott, Bolivar, MO; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and sister, Darlene (Reid) Lucas, Garden Grove, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Add Reese and Bill Schweitzer; parents, Windle and Johnnie Mae Manning; sisters, Joy and LaMetta; and brothers, Monte, Walter and Jerry.
