The gates of Heaven opened on June 20, 2022, to welcome Kathleen Marie Knudson.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 24, at Church of Corpus Christi, 1919 N 2nd St, Bismarck, with Fr. Mark Aune officiating.

Burial will held be at Mandan Union Cemetery, 1600 Mandan Avenue NE, Mandan.

A Parish Rosary will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Kathleen was born in Mandan, on January 9, 1959, to Myles and Elva (Bechtold) Knudson. Kathy was born with cerebral palsy and attended school in Mandan. While Kathy was living in Fargo, she worked at CHI Friendship. When she moved to Bismarck, she was involved with PRIDE, Inc and HIT, Inc.

Kathy was an accomplished bowler and bowled in the Special Olympics for many years and won numerous medals and ribbons. Kathy enjoyed camping with her family, singing and doing math problems.

Kathy is survived by her brothers, Bob (Lynn) and Bill (Kathy); sisters, Patty Knudson and Sandy (Pat) Stockert; sister-in-law, Joan Knudson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Myles and Elva; sister, Deb; and brothers, Ken and Doug.
