Gerald (Jerry) L. Hinricksen, 77, of Bismarck, ND, passed away on June 1, 2022, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Faith Lutheran Church, Bismarck, ND. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 5, 2022 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Bismarck Funeral Home, Bismarck, with a Prayer Service at 6:00 PM.
Jerry was born on November 1, 1944, in Crosby, the son of Martin and Jennie (Sortland) Hinricksen. He grew up with his six siblings in Crosby. He served two years in the Army with one year being in Vietnam. On September 2, 1967, he married the love of his life, Rose Hagen in Noonan. Jerry started his first job at the grocery store in Crosby which got him started in the meat cutting trade. He continued that for 20 years at Red Owl before going to Cloverdale for another 20 years and then retiring. After retirement he looked forward to getting out of the house and socializing. In the last month he was honored to go on the Honor Flight to Washington DC with the Veterans. He was a very active member of the Amvets and American Legion. He loved to volunteer for everything and anything. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing bingo, baking, cooking, and collecting beer signs. His greatest joy was being surrounded by his family and spending time with them.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rose, Bismarck; two children, Kevin Hinricksen, Bismarck, Connie Berland, Mandan; grandchildren, Brittany (Nick) Herberholz, Chelsea Berland, Hunter Hinricksen, and Ricky (Kenzie) Berland; great grandchildren, Daxton and Cullen Herberholz; sister, Ardis Richards, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters and in-laws.
