Richard ‘Dick’ Ronnie, 85, Minot, died Saturday, May 28, 2022, in his home.

Richard was born November 20, 1936 in Minot, ND to Cyrus and Annette (Lee) Ronnie. He grew up and received his education in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1955.

Dick went to work for the Great Northern Railroad after high school until he joined the National Guard for two years. In 1956 he was drafted in the US Army and was stationed in Germany with the 10th Mountain Division. While he served, he was a squadron leader and rifle sharpshooter. After two years of service with the US Army, Dick was honorably discharged and continued to serve for the US Army Reserve for four years.

Dick was united in marriage to Margaret Rademacher, of Berthold, on a beautiful spring day in May. They made their lifelong home in Minot.

Dick started work at Cummins Diesel of Minot in 1962. He worked in many positions with the company during his tenure and retired as branch manager in 1999.

Dick made a beautiful summer home on Lake Audubon where he enjoyed many summers with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son, Paul. Dick was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Elks and Eagles Aerie, all of Minot.

Dick was a genuine soul with an easy smile who blessed all who were fortunate to share in his life.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Margaret, Minot; grandchildren Megan (Bryan Moch) Ronnie, Bismarck, ND, Paige (Nick) Hulberg, Minot, ND, and Logan (Dustin) Welte, Larimore, ND; great-grandchildren Adleigh, Elsie, Brooks and Kiersten Welte Larimore, ND, Ike and Nora Hulberg Minot, ND; daughter-in-law Susan (Todd) Trosen, Larimore, ND; brother Larry Ronnie, Minot along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Dick was welcomed to his Heavenly home by his parents, son Paul, daughter Brenda JoAnn Ronnie and sister Diane Caley and her husband Dean.

Celebration of Dick Ronnie’s Life: 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot. To view a livestream of the service access https://www.youtube.com/zionlutheranchurchminot
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Thursday, June 2, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to any of the Berthold Emergency Services (Ambulance, Fire, or Police) in lieu of sending flowers and plants.
