Lawrence Albrecht

Lawrence Albrecht, 75, Bismarck, died on May 5, 2022.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, at Peace Lutheran Church, 3310 66th St. SE, Lincoln, ND.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 10,  at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.

Lawrence Albrecht was born on December 13, 1946, to Fred and Anna Albrecht in Kidder County. He went to rural school until 5th grade then Napoleon School. He went to Napoleon High School but didn’t graduate due to rheumatic fever.

Lawrence married Rita (Kraft) Albrecht on December 15,1967. He worked at Melroe (Bobcat) for 34.75 years as a welder. For 25+ years he made homemade sausage, summer sausage, jerky, slim jims, smoked turkeys, hams and once in a while, bacon. We can’t forget his famous HEAD CHEESE. He was a lifetime member to the Bismarck Eagles Club. He liked hunting but fishing from shore was his favorite hobby, he DID NOT like boats.

The family would like to thank Dr. David Field and his staff and Missouri Slope for the wonderful care he received also to all the Sanford doctors, nursing staff, home health, and hospice, especially Megan, Jessica, and Carol for her respite care. The family would also like to thank his coffee buddies at Stamart and all of their neighbors, He had an awesome neighborhood.

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Rita; son, Terry (Michelle); daughter, Theresa (LeRoy) Held; his five granddaughters, Traci (Eric) Carpenter, Monique (Chris) Berndt, Monica (Kyle) Steele, Samantha Held, and Katie Held; grandson, Tyler (Cyri) Albrecht; three great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons; brother, LuVerne (Charmaine) Albrecht; sister-in-law, Patty Albrecht; sister-in-law, Mary Jaszkowisk; and brothers-in-law, John Kraft, and Joe (Lynette) Kraft.

He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, John and Mary Kraft; brother, Milton; three sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law; Phyllis and Frank Krumm, Marge and Pete Hoerner, Fred Jaszkowiak, Debra Kraft; grandson, Michael Albrecht (Held); and great-granddaughter, Staci Ann Carpenter.
