Marian Joy Braun, 93, Coon Rapids, Minnesota, entered into eternal life in the presence of her Lord on May 25, 2021.  Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 3 at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave., Bismarck. Visitation will be held one-hour prior at the funeral home. A service livestream will be available on the funeral home’s website.

Burial will be held at Turtle Lake Cemetery.

Marian was born September 7, 1927, in Turtle Lake to John D. and Lulu (Stephenson) Fandrick.  She attended and graduated from Turtle Lake High School.  She married the love of her life, Martin B. Braun, June 7, 1947.  They lived and farmed on the Braun homestead seven miles east of Turtle Lake.  In 1961, they moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she was a homemaker and a church volunteer.  They returned to Turtle Lake in 1973 as owners of Braun’s Hardware. 

She maintained a very active role in their family business.  In 2003 she moved to Bismarck, and in 2018, to Coon Rapids.  Marian was an avid gardener, loved to knit and crochet, read, collect recipes and enjoyed her travels both for pleasure as well as business. 

Marian is survived by her four children, Jerrianne (Harland) Hackett, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, June (Harris) Birkeland, Coon Rapids, Minnesota, Peggy Braun, Walkersville, Maryland and Wesley (Lesley) Braun, Bismarck; seven grandchildren, Evan J. (Stacy) Hackett, Clayton Birkeland, Nathan (Christy) Birkeland, Erin (Dan) Larson, Kristen (Jerett) Norrgard, Jessica Braun and Keston Braun; six great-grandchildren, Madelynn Hackett, Elliott Hackett, Jacob Birkeland, Cole Larson, Grace Larson and Ben Larson; sister, Ann Keck, Fallbrook, California; sister-in-law, Lucille Braun, Bismarck; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Martin; brothers Alvin, Raymond, Elmer James, and Robert; sisters, Florence Renfrow and Doris Schock.
