Richard Allen “Dick” Haluzak, 73, passed away at home on April 21st, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Bismarck Funeral Home, Bismarck, ND. Burial will be held at 12:00 PM at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery. A livestream of the service will be available on the Bismarck Funeral Home Facebook page. Family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Dick was born in Bismarck, ND, on August 15th, 1948, to Joseph and Mildred (Melech) Haluzak. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School. Dick served in the U.S. Army motor pool during the Vietnam era and was honorably discharged earning the rank of Sergeant. He owned Dick’s Bait and Beer and continued his career selling cars, retiring from Kupper Chevrolet.
Dick married the love of his life, Ruby Crandall, on June 8th, 1968, and together, they had four daughters.
He enjoyed pedaheh and halupsi every Christmas Eve, hunting, fishing, car races, and watching sports, especially the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. Dick’s passions were casino trips and playing pinochle.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral services will be Friday, April 29th, 2022, at Bismarck Funeral Home: Greeting – 9:30 am. Funeral – 10:30 am. Burial at Veteran’s Cemetery Mandan – 12:00 pm. Luncheon and pinochle at Bismarck Eagles Club – 12:30 pm. Services will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.
Dick is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruby; four daughters, Stacy (Roy) Senger, Erica Mills, Kristy (Randy) McDowell, Jenny (Dan) Tipton; eight grandkids, Jessica (Dan), Richard (Kristin), Jordan (Marlana), Jaysen, Sammantha (Matt), Jostin, Hannah, Hayley; ten great-grandkids, Zach, Talia, Brianne, Kaiden, Aryah, Jackson, Alita, Aylah, Eowyn, Raphael; four sisters, Joanie (Wayne) Mathis, Joyce (Brad) Rauch, Jan (Tim) Houn, Joy (Kirk) Slack; special cousin, David Kulackoski; honorary daughter, Allayna Jensen; three fur girls, Lily, Willow, Ivy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, Joseph and Mildred Haluzak and Jesse and Madeline Crandall.
