Antonia was born on January 20, 1939. She spent her whole life living the farm life, from growing up in the Solen area with her parents, Frank and Monica (Heinert) Vogel, and eight siblings. She graduated from Solen High School in 1958.
In 1958 she met her future husband, Melvin Fischer, who also was her senior prom date; they were married on October 21, 1958, in Odense, ND. They then moved to the St. Anthony area where they built a ranch and raised 5 boys and 1 girl. Antonia was happy being on the farm, never needing to be going places or taking vacations. She never complained about the hard times or hard work. Through the struggles that life brought Antonia was a very patient person. She survived her recent struggle through cancer.
Antonia was humble but knew how to run all the equipment, knew a sick cow when she saw it, could nurse a sick calf back to health, drive a tractor, fix fence, and she knew how to put a meal together to feed everyone. She enjoyed spending time with family, drawing pictures freehanded, embroidering, tending garden, and her pets. She especially liked the baby animals, watching them play. She and Melvin loved going to the casino to play the slot machines, socialize, and attending concerts.
Antonia will be deeply missed by her children: Delvin (Rochelle) Fischer of Colorado Springs, CO; Dale (Jonah) of Mandan, ND; Curtis of Bismarck, ND; Cletus (Lynn) of Minot, ND; Edwina (Michael) Ford of Williston, ND; Denise (Elaine) of Bismarck, ND; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Antonia is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, married for nearly 63 years, until he passed away on October 11, 2021, her two infant sons (Barnett and Dervin); her parents, sisters Cecilia Jacob and Katie Becvar, brothers Matt Vogel and John Vogel, including several brother- and sisters-in-law.
