Linda Gray

January 24, 1937 to March 29,2022

Linda passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 29, 2022 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck, North Dakota. She was born January 24, 1937 to the late Eleanor (Triebwasser) and Leo Hornbacher in McClusky, North Dakota. Her family later moved to Wing where she grew up on the family farm, where she loved riding horses, milking cows, and working the cattle. Linda was one of eleven children and went to school in Wing and as a teen she worked in the local café with her sister, Darlene, before moving to Bismarck.

She loved the outdoors, which included vegetable gardens and flower gardens. Linda also enjoyed cooking and baking (kuchen) and canning. She had a great sense of humor and was always a lot of fun to be around. Some of her favorite activities included playing a good game of cards, and of course bingo. She also enjoyed visiting with family and friends over a good cup of coffee. She was a big country music fan and Charlie Pride was always her favorite. One of her favorite parts of the day was when her youngest grandson, EJ, would come over after school and help her around the house or go for a walk and just visit.

Linda will be remembered for her love that she had for her family, parents and siblings, and many grandchildren and great children. She will remain in our hearts and thoughts forever.

Linda is survived by her sons, Tim Gray of Wing and Dustin Gray of Wing; daughter, Cyndi Stolz of Gardner, KS; and her grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Calvin (Shirley) Hornbacher, Gary (late Patti) Hornbacher, Leroy (Carol) Hornbacher, Gene Hornbacher and Leslie Hornbacher; sisters, Darlene Ulich, Donna (late Clay) Joyce, Shirley (late George) Huss, and Karen Koch.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Violett Kavich; and her beloved oldest son, Terry Gray.

A celebration of life will be held, Friday, April 8, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.
