Richard Fred Fredrickson, 68, of New Salem, passed away on March 30, 2022 with his partner by his side.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 6, at 7 p.m. at the Bismarck Funeral Home.  A livestream of the service will be available on the Bismarck Funeral Home Facebook page.

Richard was born to Kermit LeRoy and Mayre (Hansen) Fredrickson on Feb. 12, 1954 in Minneapolis, MN.  He attended Bismarck High School graduating in 1972.  For many years Richard worked as a dietician for Bismarck Hospital.  He also worked at Medcenter One Care Center in Mandan and HIT Inc.  Richard had a unique “funny” personality.  Noted for his “one-liners”.  He had a big heart and was generous to a fault.

Richard had a love for animals, especially Shelties.  When it came to antiques; he showed a high amount of expertise.  His love and eye for antiques took him to many auctions, antique stores and garage sales.  Knowledge came from reading and doing research.  He loved to attend plays and go to concerts.

Richard will be deeply missed by his partner, Kenny Meidinger, sister Ellen (Richard) Forderer, three nephews, Lyle (Rachele), Darrin (Heather), Chad Becca, special friend Eugene Senger.  He is also survived by a grand-nephew Landon, grand nieces Destiny and Kimberlee.  His sense of humor, wealth of selflessness and friendly smile will be missed by family, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kermit and Mayre, grandparents, Richard and Florence Hansen, Fred and Clara Fredrickson.
