Mamie M. Hagel

Mamie Marie (DeRemee) Hagel went home to be with the Lord on May 21, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 27 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 26 with a vigil starting at 7 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck. 

Burial will be held at Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Driscoll.

Mamie was born June 22, 1929 at Bismarck Hospital. She grew up in Braddock until she was eight years old, and then moved to Driscoll where she completed her education.

She married Edwin D. Hagel Sr. on June 21, 1947 in Tappen. They resided in Driscoll until 2015 where they raised nine children.

Mamie enjoyed gardening, animals, traveling to see her kids, and her many flower gardens. She cherished spending time with her family, grandkids, and all of her friends. She also enjoyed interactions made while working with the kids in Driscoll school who frequently requested her homemade buns and bread, which brought joy to her heart.

She is survived by her children, Edwin Jr., (Deb), Jamestown, Charlotte Hagel, Bismarck, Kurt (Carol) Hagel, West Fargo, Ken (Mary) Hagel, Billings Mont., Scott Hagel, Mandan, Jeff (Liz) Hagel, Worden Mont., Jane (Dennis) Ambers, Bismarck, and Vicky (Clay) Dokken, Cheyenne, Wyo.; grandchildren, Jess Ambers, Bismarck, Amber Rohrich, West Fargo, Andy Hagel, Horace, April Morris, Fargo, Timothy Hagel, Minneapolis, Minn., Victor Hagel, Billings, Mont., Nicholas Hagel, Billings, Mont., Adam Hagel, Billings Mont., Tabitha Biegler, Minneapolis, Minn., Matthew Hagel, Minneapolis, Minn., Chelsey Schatz, Watford City, Joseph and Joshua Hagel, Okinawa, Japan, Sarah Hagel, Billings Mont., Katherine Acosta, Meridian, Ida. Natasha, Mikala, Marshal, Landen Batt, Billings, Mont., Brittany Blair, Billings Mont. Katie Dokken, Cheyenne, Wyo., Alexis Dokken, Cheyenne, Wyo., and 30 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margret Mittleider, Tappen, and Maxine Koth, McKenzie; brothers-in-law, Isreal Mittleider, Tappen, Fernand Hagel and sisters-in-law; Emma Kramlich, Kyle Hagel and Helen Hagel; special friend, Glays (Berreth) Spiker, her special puppies Zoey and Bailee and many other friends too numerous to count.

Mamie was preceded in death by her parents, Victor DeRemee and Birdie (Wilson) DeRemee; husband, Edwin D. Hagel Sr.; son, Todd Hagel; sister, Mary Lou Mittleider and brothers-in-law, Harry Mittleider and James Koth.
