Susan Rose Beaudoin was born January 6th, 1951, to Willard and Joan (Steffes) Beaudoin. She was raised in downtown Dickinson where she lived a life filled with simple joys: daily mass, meeting friends, picnics, and always singing and laughter. They didn’t live a rich life, but always made the most of it and found riches in the simple life they lived together. In a house with fourteen children, just being a part of it all was an adventure as well as a blessing.

Susan attended St. Patrick’s grade school and went on to graduate in Trinity High School’s first graduating class of 1969. Susan attended Dickinson State College for a few years and there she met her honey, Ron, in 1972. Ron was charming and they found in each other much laughter and a beautiful ease. They were married in 1973. Within a few years, Susan and Ron welcomed their firstborn, a son. Four lovely daughters followed.

Susan very much enjoyed being a homemaker. Her home was always clean, cheery, and full of prayer and song. Ron and the kids would come home to be welcomed by wonderful aromas. Susan was a great cook and baker; many have enjoyed her caramel rolls, brownies, and giant chocolate chip cookies. She and Ron built a family business and together they worked side by side faithfully. Susan loved her Catholic faith. She longed to receive Jesus every day in the Eucharist. She faithfully said many roseries for family, friends, and her “little sweeties” -her grandchildren, she absolutely loved being their grandma.

She loved her time with high school friends, meeting each month for lunch and laughter. Susan enjoyed traveling, any family reunion, and music. She was always humming, and it was such a joy to hear her fill her home with song. Her song will continue to ring in the ears of all who love her. Susan courageously fought cancer for four years. Having given her all and suffering so well, she finally went home to the Lord on March 26th, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family. She will truly be missed by many and will live on in our hearts forever.

“Wherever a soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories.”

Susan was survived by her loving husband Ron of 48 years and 5 children and their families: Jon (Jessina) Kary, Isaac, Aria, James, and Lia; Rochelle (Corey) Simnioniw, Sam, Maura, Will, and Katie; Becky (Michael) Kreitinger, Zeke, Gianna, Jocelyn, Charlie, Johanna, and Èowyn; Jackie (Scott) Weidner, Eli, Eva, and Emi; Jeanine (Tyler) Tucker, baby due in August. She was preceded in death by her parents Willard and Joan Beaudoin and younger brother Donald.
