Leo Gehring, 82, Bismarck, entered Heaven’s gates on March 13, 2022.
A private family service will be held on Friday, March 18 at Bismarck Funeral Home.
Leo was born on November 12, 1939, to Ida (Meyer) and Jacob Gehring. He grew up and attended school in Regan, ND until he moved to Bismarck.
On September 1, 1962, he was united in marriage to Ardella Emter in Bismarck. They were blessed with two children, Karla and Timothy. Leo and Ardella faithfully attended the Ascension Catholic Church in Bismarck. Leo worked for the City of Bismarck for 33 years.
In his younger years, Leo enjoyed camping with family and friends, biking, playing cards, snowmobiling, and dancing to polka music with his wife. Spending time with family and friends always brought him great joy. A highlight of his life were his three grandsons, Johnathan, Tyler, and Brandon whom he loved dearly.
Leo is survived by his son, Timothy, Bismarck; daughter, Karla (Kevin) Neigum, Marion, IA; grandsons, Johnathan Neigum, Marion, IA, Tyler (Elizabeth) Neigum, Le Claire, IA, and Brandon Neigum, Rochester, MN; his first great grandson, Trace Neigum, Le Claire, IA; along with many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ardella; his parents; sisters, Violet (Art) Hochhalter, Gillette WY, and Viola (Wilmer) Hochhalter, Bismarck; and brother Ervin (Marlys) Gehring, Mandan.
