Marlene Schroeder

June 9, 1940 – February 12, 2022

Marlene Schroeder, 81, moved to her heavenly home on Feb. 12, 2022, from Edgewood Vista, Minot, ND.

A memorial service will be held on May 1st at 2:00 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Max.

Marlene was born on June 9, 1940, in Bottineau, ND to Erwin and Eleanor Wagner.  She attended country school through sixth grade and graduated from Bottineau High School in 1958.

She met Dennis Schroeder in August 1957.  They married October 2, 1959.  From this union four children were born:  Steven, Michael, Joni, and Duane.

Other than being a great mother, she also excelled in other areas, including waitressing, running the ranch when Dennis was working away, helping run Max Texaco Service, working as a bank teller, and co-owner of Max Grocery Store.

From a young girl, Marlene always loved horses and was involved with them all her life.  Marlene’s greatest pride was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She moved to Max in 1959 and bought the Torno farm on the west side of Max in 1969.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her sister Ardys Berg, brother-in-law Kenneth Berg, granddaughter, Brook Schroeder, son-in-law Sheldon Haner, and special friend, Shirley Jungling.

She is survived by her loving family, including her husband of 62 years, Dennis; her four children, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
