Ruth Ann Butterfield, 74, Minot, died Monday, February 7, 2022 at her home with family and hospice by her side, following a brief bought with cancer.

Ruth was born December 22, 1947 at Clarkfield, Minnesota, the daughter of Floyd and Lucille (Lundser) Bendickson. She was raised and educated at Clarkfield and graduated from Clarkfield High School. She moved to Minot with her family and continued her education at Minot State University, where she received a degree in nursing as an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse.)

Ruth was once married to Dale Butterfield and Roger Lancaster. Throughout the years, she was employed as a CNA at a Phoenix, AZ Nursing Home. After returning to Minot, she was employed by the Minot Daily News in the Circulation department for more than 30 years. She had also worked for the Bismarck Tribune in the Circulation department.

Ruth was an active volunteer with the 2nd Story program in Minot. She attended Our Redeemers Church and participated in a Bible study program there. Ruth had a special place in her heart for helping others that needed a helping hand or were down and out at that moment.

Her loving family includes, children, Cheryl (Daniel) Haugerud, Minot, Adam (Michelle) Butterfield, Watertown, SD, John Jones, Minot, ND and Tammy (Tony) Zeltinger, Minot; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; twin-brother, Ronnie Bendickson, Minot, brother, Charles Bendickson, Montevideo, MN and sister, Darlene Ulven, Montevideo, MN; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lori; sister, Sandy Koupang and brother, Gary Bendickson.

Celebration of Life Service: Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in Our Redeemers Church, Minot.
Visitation: Friday, February 11, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to 2nd Story or Our Redeemers Church.
