LaVonne Rose was born in Dickinson on December 10, 1956, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Braun) Allen. She attended school in the Dickinson area and graduated from Trinity High School in 1975. LaVonne worked several jobs, including JoAnn Fabrics, before marrying her high school sweetheart, Kent Fritz. The couple was married at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on October 7, 1976. Together they made their home on the Fritz farm south of Dickinson. LaVonne loved working side by side with Kent in their grain and livestock farming operation. She was a great caretaker of her cats and proudly raised poultry, peacocks and pheasants. LaVonne loved being outdoors in the country and tending to her flower garden. Visiting with her special nieces and nephews who came to visit was a great pleasure and she will be remembered for making the best chocolate chip cookies ever. LaVonne battled MS for 30 years, but always kept her smile, even through her final day.

LaVonne is survived by her husband, Kent of Dickinson; siblings, Les (Joy) Allen of Champaign, IL, Rita (John) Meyer of Minot, Rod Allen of Boulder, CO, Joyce (Ron) Bushaw of Grand Forks, Tony (Sharon) Allen of Andover, MN; cousin, Berdine (Ralph) Flyberg of New England; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Elizabeth Allen; sister, Karen Allen; nephew, John Meyer, Jr.; niece, Erin Orth.
