Eleanor Lee, 95, Fargo, ND, and longtime Minot resident, passed into heaven on January 12, 2022, at Edgewood Assisted Living in Fargo.
Gloria Eleanor Lee was born on March 22, 1926, on the Liebel family farm near Carpio, ND to Walter and Valjer (Danielson) Liebel. Her primary years were on the family farm north of Lake Darling Dam, and she was educated in Carpio and Underwood prior to graduating from Carpio High School in 1944. Eleanor was a graduate of New York Hairdressing Academy in Fargo, ND and was employed as a hairdresser in Fargo, Kulm, and Minot.
Eleanor married Myron “Mighty” Lee on May 21, 1949, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot, ND. They made their home in New Town from 1955 until 1973. Mighty died on February 9, 1973. Following the death of her husband, Eleanor moved to Minot. She was employed at various Minot businesses primarily as an office clerk. She retired in 1996.
While living in New Town, Eleanor was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church, she bowled in a league and was a member of the New Town Study Club. She was an avid bridge player and was a member of several clubs both in New Town and Minot. Eleanor was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot.
Eleanor’s loving family includes her daughter Patty and David Overvold, who was like a son to Eleanor, Ashville NC and daughter Marcia Johnson Fargo ND; grandchildren: Genae (Aaron) Collett Newport OR, Thea (Nick) Piaskoski Ashville NC , Michael Overvold (Tara Lyons) Stuttgart Germany, and Matthew Johnson West Fargo, ND; great grandchildren: Christian Collett Bend OR, Moirae Collett Corvallis OR, and Maisee Collett Newport OR, Madalyn, Nathan and Julia Piaskoski, Ashville NC; sister-in-law: Jeanette Lee Perry Minneapolis MN; and 12 nieces and 18 nephews.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, husband Mighty, son-in-law Donovan Johnson, sisters Ardis Larson and Shirley Larson, brothers David and Clair Liebel, and all but one of her in-laws.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Monday, January 17, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.
