Edward Kent Hodgson 81, passed peacefully on January 11, 2022 at home in Dickinson ND with his family and faithful dog Scout by his side.
Edward was born January 28, 1940 in Fargo ND to Kent and Janet (Prochniak) Hodgson. After growing up on a farm in rural Arthur ND, he graduated high school and joined the Air Force. He completed basic training at Lackland Airforce Base in Texas. Edward proudly served six years in the Airforce National Guard. Ed furthered his education by completing courses in a Business College in Fargo ND.
On January 16, 1960 Ed married the love of his life Phyllis Murch in Argusville, ND and they made their first home in Fargo, ND. They were blessed with three children. He provided for his growing family by farming and working as a District Sales Manager with farm equipment for over 47 years until his retirement in 2015. The area he covered included Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Illinois, Montana. He was very respected by his clients and made many lifelong friends along the way.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, he was a man of strong faith and many interests who always had a smile and loved spending time with family and friends. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, sprint car races, airplanes/aviation and entertaining family and friends. From bonfire “bean blasts” to storytelling, roadtrips in the RV; he lived his life to the fullest.
Edward is survived by his wife Phyllis, sister Shirley (Dan) Hagemeister, Mary Beth (Bill) Engelke, children Tami (Gary) Stalberger, Tom (Rhonda Thompson) Hodgson, Randy (Julene Guenther) Hodgson, 8 grandchildren Cassie Stalberger, Cory Stalberger, Ryan (Mindy Curtis) Hodgson, Rory (Julie Johnson), Annie (Josh) Smith, Kent (Shauna Davis) Hodgson, Kristin (Kyle) Jameson, and Jessica (Jayson Perius) Hodgson. His 15 greatgrandchildren included Cora, Xavier, Hannah, Maddyson, Katie Jayne, James, Easton, Ella, Izaya, Kysen, Aaxtyn, Thorin, Cedar, Cirdan, and Jaylynn along with many nieces and nephews.
Proceeded in death by his parents; brother Duane Hodgson; many sister and brother- in-laws and aunts and uncles.
There will be a Memorial/Celebration of Life at a later date this spring/summer 2022 in Riverdale, ND.
