John Jay Rath, 56, of Bismarck, passed away on Jan. 14, 2022.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022 at 10 a.m. at the Bismarck Funeral Home. A livestream of the service will be available on the Bismarck Funeral Home Facebook page.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
John was born on Jan. 22, 1965, to Clifford and Carol (Hellwig) Rath. John was raised and educated in Bismarck and attended Bismarck High School. On June 30, 1990, he married Becky (Meyer). John worked at several places over the years, his last place of employment was Mid America Steel, where he worked for 24 years. John was also a member of the Boiler Maker 647 Union. He enjoyed hunting and riding his motorcycle, but most importantly, he loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Becky; two daughters, Meghan (Austin) Hoesel, Kari (Travis) Meidinger-Cartney; brother, Robert (Joan) Rath; 4 granddaughters, Allison, Kendra, Emma, and Addison; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford, and Carol; grandmother, Gladys Hellwig; uncles; aunts; and cousins.
