Lester Kunz, Bismarck, passed away in his home at Primrose Retirement Community on April 28, 2021 at the age of 98 ½, surrounded by family. A private graveside service will be held.
Les was born in 1922 to Kurt and Martha Kunz in Rosebud. He graduated from New Salem High School. He married Mary Ostafin in 1947 and they made their home in Mandan until moving to Bismarck several years later.
He worked for Yegen Diary, which became Bridgeman and finally Land-O-Lakes; first as a milkman and retiring as a sales manager.
Les was a kind, gentle man with a great sense of humor. His top priorities were always family and church. He loved to be around people and enjoyed playing cards, gardening and fishing.
Les is survived by his daughters, Sharon Froeschle and Karen Drickey; sons-in-law, Jerry Froeschle and Patrick Drickey; grandchildren, Ann Froeschle, Lauren Fuhrman (Trevor), Kayt Grieshaber (Aaron) and Alex Drickey; and great-grandchildren, Maxwell and Charlotte Grieshaber, and Audrey and Owen Fuhrman.
Lester was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; father and mother; brothers, Walter, Elmer and Kenneth.
Les’ family wishes to thank the many dedicated and compassionate caregivers, staff and friends at Primrose who enhanced his life every day; as well as immense gratitude to the wonderful caregivers at Caring Edge Hospice.
