A Liturgy of the Word for Mary A. Sickler, 79, of Dickinson will be 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. Burial will follow at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation for Mary will be from 5:00 p.m., – 7:00p.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a vigil being held at 6:00 p.m.
Mary passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 at St. Luke’s Home in Dickinson.
Mary A. Hatzenbuehler was born on April 28, 1942 on the family farm in Lefor, ND to Jacob and Theresa (Seiler) Hatzenbuehler. She attended St. Joseph’s Grade School and Central High School. She married Alfred Sickler on April 8, 1961 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson. To this union three children were born; Debbie, Jeff and Craig. Mary loved traveling, especially to Deadwood and Las Vegas. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Catholic Foresters and on the local bowling league. She spent many hours decorating inside and outside her home for the holidays. Family was everything to her, and she always made sure to bake and cook for them when they came over. Mary’s hobbies included adding to her clown collection, playing cards (TIC), garage sales, and being outside camping and tending to her garden and flowers. She also enjoyed crafting, and painting and was a member of a craft club.
Mary is survived by her husband Alfred of Dickinson; children, Debbie (Duane) Heidecker of AZ, Jeff Sickler of Dickinson, Craig (Michelle Stanley) Sickler of MT; sister, Rosie Dawson of TX; grandchildren, Bobby (Megan B) Heidecker, Keisha (Michael) Wood, Diedre (Sean H) Sickler, Nathan (Brette) Sickler, Amber Sickler, Carly Sickler; great-grandchildren; Taryn and Daxton Wood and Cruze Heidecker; numerous brother and sisters in law and nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Theresa; brothers, Ernest and Jack; and sisters, Louise and Lorraine.
