Obituary
Gale M. Richter, 68, of Mandan, passed away December 16, 2021, at CHI St. Alexius Health Bismarck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Fred Harvey as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 20, 2021, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 PM.
Gale was born April 21, 1953 to Anton and Pauline Cermak of St. Anthony, ND. She moved to Mandan as a small child and attended Mandan schools graduating in 1971. She worked at many businesses in the Bismarck-Mandan area ending up at Lowes where she was part of the crew opening up the new store.
She married Jeff Richter on September 6, 1987 in Custer, SD, after which she and Jeff made their home in Mandan. She enjoyed gardening, motorcycle riding, four wheeling in the Black Hills, cooking and baking (especially her cheesecakes, cookies, and bars). She was very fond of Halloween and Christmas seasons, eagerly awaiting them each year.
Left with fond memories are her husband, Jeff of Mandan; sisters, Vonnie of Alexandria, VA and Paulette (John) Ressler of Mandan; brother, Jerome Shelton of Washington; mother-in-law, Helen Richter; two sisters-in-law, Rene (Carl) Lafferty of Bismarck and Debbie Richter of Mandan; brother-in-law, Tom (Sandy) Richter of Minot; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents; brother, Thomas; sister-in-law, Ella Cermak; brother-in-law, Robert Kirby; and nephews, Brian Stanton and Bennie Smith.
