Randy Aden

Randy Ray Aden, 58, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at the Sanford Health, Bismarck. Randy’s Celebration of Life service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18 at the Black Leg Ranch, located at 24750 62nd Ave SE, Sterling.

Randy was born on April 24, 1963, to Wallace and Barbara (Maxwell) Aden in St. James, Minnesota.  In his youth, he spent many years riding horses, enjoying Saddle Club, FFA events and high school wrestling. He was confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in St. James, MN. He graduated from St. James Public High School in 1981 and finished two years at Mankato Technical College.

Randy started his career at MN Valley Railroad in Morton, Minnesota.  A few years later, Randy joined the Dakota Missouri Valley & Western Railroad in Bismarck. He dedicated 34 years to his lifelong passion of trains, teaching others and help the industry he loved.

Randy Aden and DeeAnn Debell were married on July 30, 1988. Together they welcomed their children, Belinda, Corissa and Michael. They later divorced.  Randy Aden and Nikki Foerderer married on December 4, 2009. Together they welcomed their child, Ryder, and he embraced two step-children, Blade and Rayne Auch. They later divorced.

Randy enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, golfing, watching NASCAR and camping with his family, friends and co-workers. He loved hanging out on the farm with his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed his grandchildren and the liveliness they brought to his life.

Randy was a man of few words, but family and friends knew how much he cared for them. He was always there for anyone that needed a helping hand. Randy was his children’s steady support and he loved to make people laugh.

His “Aden Lodge” will always hold many memories and laughter from all the family and friend gatherings he held there.

Randy is survived by his children, Belinda Aden, Bismarck, Corissa (James) Jenkins, Fargo, Michael Aden, Bismarck, and Ryder Aden, Bismarck; grandchildren, Denee’ Fredrickson, Sawyer Hartleib, Cornelius Jenkins, Blake Nieuwsma, and Caleigh Aden; siblings, Rickie Aden, Ronnie (Kristin) Aden and Rhonda (Jan) Miller, all of St. James, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Barbara Aden.
