Geneva Stradinger

Geneva Stradinger, 90, died Saturday, December 11, 2021 at her home in Bismarck.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Parkway Funeral Service.

Interment will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Geneva Kadrmas Stradinger was born July 6, 1931 to William J. and Emilie Kadrmas.  She attended a rural school in Snow, ND until entering Dickinson Roosevelt Elementary School, she then graduated from Dickinson Central High and attended Dickinson State College (DSC). She began employment as DSC’s Registrar’s Assistant in 1949.

She married Harold Stradinger on January 21, 1950, sharing her life with him for 63 years. Geneva moved to Ozark, AL in 1951 to be with Harold who was stationed at Fort Rucker. When Geneva and Harold returned to Dickinson, she went back to work at DSC.  In 1964, they moved to Bismarck, where Geneva was employed at the North Dakota State Board of Nursing from Sept. 1, 1969 until retiring on Sept. 1, 1986.

Geneva was proud and thankful to have been blessed with her sons, William “Bill” and David “Dave”.  She enjoyed bowling, reading, cooking, gardening, embroidery, pen collecting, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family, especially Sunday dinners. 

Geneva is survived by her two sons, Bill Stradinger, Bismarck, Dave Stradinger (Sheryl), Bismarck; three granddaughters, Kristen Stradinger (JC Simons), Minneapolis, Minn., Nicole and Heather Stradinger, Bismarck; one great grandson Deymon Schauer, Minneapolis, Minn. and four nephews, Ronald Kadrmas, Russell Kadrmas, Robert Kadrmas, and Roger Kadrmas.

Geneva was preceded in her death by her parents; husband, Harold; her brother, Ed Kadrmas; and her granddaughter Sarah Stradinger.
