Michael was born on February 10, 1946, to Jerrie and Hilda (Thompson) Blazek in Barnett Township, Roseau County, Minnesota where he grew up.  Michael served in the US Air Force from 1964-1966 and in the Minnesota Army National Guard.

Michael met Valerie Kuznia in Thief River Falls, MN in 1968 and they were married in 1969.  They welcomed into their lives Pamela, Donavan, and Jonathan.

Michael made his living in law enforcement, a family construction business, real estate, and working for the state of North Dakota.

Michael’s life was fulfilled by serving his family and people across all walks of life.  He loved to see his family and his grandchildren, watching their sporting events, choral concerts, playing board games (Risk- which he always seemed to win), and just time around the home.

Michael was a huge supporter of the community by serving with the Knights of Columbus (4th degree), the Lions Club (District Governor), and a lifetime member of the VFW.  He was a man who would give the shirt off his back to someone who needed it and the last dollar out of his pocket.  He always had a story to tell or a joke for any moment.  He never met a stranger.

Michael had a deep faith in Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary.  His faith has been extended down into his family.

Michael is deeply missed by his wife of 52 years, Valerie; daughter, Pamela; son, Donavan (Sara); son, Jonathan (Brenda), grandchildren Chalsie, Zach, Levi, Chandler, Alexis, Chase, Cody, Cole, Alyda, Alece, great-grand daughter Teegan; brother, Robert; sisters, Shelly, Betty, Jennifer, Annie, Deborah, Sarah, Carrie, and Mary Jo, as well as many nephews, nieces, and friends in the community.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerrie; mother, Hilda; father-in-law, Valerian Kuznia; mother-in-law, Loretta (Price) Kuznia; brothers, Charles Blazek and Jerome Blazek, and brother-in-law, Hank Kuznia.

In lieu of flowers, please make donation in his name to St. Vincent de Paul Conference, Bismarck.

Love and miss you Dad.
