Leona Seilinger went home to be with the Heavenly Father on December 4th, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., December 10, 2021, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave, Bismarck. Visitation will take place one hour prior to service.

Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Leona was born on April 28, 1925 to Fred and Elizabeth (Kiebler) Hieb near Lincoln Valley, N.D. She attended schools in the Lincoln Valley area.

She married Earl Seilinger on December 18, 1945 in Minneapolis M.N. They lived in the Chicago Il. area until the spring of 1955. That spring they moved to the family farm nine miles north of Wing. They dairy farmed and raised small grains until November of 1996. Earl passed away in 1998.

 Leona continued to live there until 2018. She moved in with daughter Linda from Mandan and for a short time was living at St. Vincent’s Nursing Home.

Leona helped with the dairy chores and enjoyed gardening, baking, playing cards, jig saw puzzles, canning and cooking meals for the grandsons when they came out to hunt.

Leona is survived by her children, Phyllis Okland, Mandan; Richard Seilinger, Wing, David (Kristi) Seilinger, Bismarck, Linda Seilinger, Mandan, Steven Seilinger, Mandan; three granddaughters; two grandsons; three great-granddaughters; two great grandson and her (adopted) daughter, Leah Neibel and her family.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of Leona’s special friends; Ike and Carol Grantham, Dennis and Wanda Burrer, B.J. Goldhammer, Doris Saeman, Elma Barnhadt as well as her numerous caregivers.

Leona was preceded in death by her husband Earl; her parents; two brothers; six sisters; grandson, Christopher Okland and great-granddaughter, Arlene Emelia Schmidt.
