Obituary

Sharon G. Schultz, 79, of Mandan, ND, passed away November 21, 2021, at Sanford Health, Bismarck.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Todd Kreitinger as celebrant. Burial will follow the service at Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 26, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 PM.

Sharon was born to Raymond and Clara (Resler) Maczkowicz on September 16, 1942, in Breckenridge, MN. She grew up in Geneseo, ND, and graduated from Forman High School. Sharon attended North Dakota State College of Science where she graduated as an LPN nurse.

While working as a nurse in Bismarck, ND, she met and fell in love with her husband James Schultz. Sharon had been married to James for 53 years before his passing three years earlier. She sincerely missed him.

Sharon moved to ranch with James near Fort Rice, ND, where she worked and raised their family until James retired and they moved to Mandan, ND. She worked tirelessly to keep her family warm, safe, and fed. Sharon looked forward to spending time with her seven grandchildren, Laura, Ashley, James, Tiffany, Wendy, Elias, and Noah. Also spending time with her six great-grandchildren, Lacie, Gage, Ryder, Jaxton, Riley, and Christian.

Sharon was a good Christian, instilling her faith in her family values with a very understanding heart. She belonged to the Catholic Daughters for 40 years and was an active member until recently. She enjoyed researching and acquiring collectables, especially glassware with a great passion towards depression glass. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, and baking for her family which they enjoyed immensely.

Sharon will be deeply missed by her family, daughter, Lori (Nolan) Ternes of Beulah, ND; sons, Wade (Tina) of St. Maries, ID, Scott (Doneta) of Mandan; seven grandchildren, Laura, Ashley, James, Tiffany, Wendy, Elias, and Noah; six great-grandchildren, Lacie, Gage, Ryder, Jaxton, Riley, and Christian; brother, Gerald (Connie) Mackowicz; sister, Ann (Art) Hognes.

Sharon is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James.
