Kenneth Berreth, 86, passed away on Nov. 4, 2021. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 18 at Church of St. Anne, 1321 Braman Ave, Bismarck.
Burial will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Kenneth “Ken” H. Berreth was born in Linton on September 8, 1935, the son of Herman and Rhoda (Johnson) Berreth. At age nine, Ken moved with his family to their family farm south of Dawson. He attended schools in Dawson and graduated in 1953. From 1955 to 1957 he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Texas.
In August 1957 he married Lucy Wangler at St. Boniface Catholic Church in rural Kintyre. Ken worked as a manager for Rural Electric Coops in Glasgow, Montana, Superior, Wisconsin, and Dickinson, retiring in 2000. Ken and Lucy made their home in Bismarck since 2000.
Ken enjoyed fishing, woodworking, yardwork and being outdoors. He was a member of the AmVets, American Legion and Knights of Columbus.
Ken is survived by his wife, Lucy, Bismarck; seven children, Kim Bennett, South Dakota, Karla Huizenga, Bismarck, Kent (Kirsty) Berreth, Wash., Kevin (Kathy) Berreth, Fargo, Kilian (Danette) Ariz., Kyla (Greg McQuaid) Berreth, Va., Koni (Eric Schnell) Berreth, South Dakota; brother-in-law, Larry (Diana) Wangler, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Edith (Paul) Hojian and Gerald Berreth; and niece, Terry Hust.
