Robert “Bob” Rodney Guthmiller, passed away on Nov. 10, 2021, at Sanford Health as his wife held his hand. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.

Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Bob was born in Jamestown on August 1, 1953, to Adolph and Hulda Guthmiller. As a child, Bob lived in Pettibone until 1960 when the Guthmiller family moved to Bismarck.

As a young man, Bob had numerous jobs until he started working for the Bismarck Public Works – Street Department. After working with the Street Dept. for 25 years, Bob retired. During the summers, he went to work for Parks and Recreation.

Bob met his wife Doris on June 24, 1978, and they were married on February 12, 1980.  On November 23, 1981, their daughter, Lynn, was born and on November 11, 1982, their daughter, Tina, was born.

Bob told Doris when they got married that the kitchen was his. He loved to cook and bake. He started planting gardens and then did some canning. He liked working outdoors in the summer. Besides gardening, he enjoyed cutting the lawn and grooming the yard. He bowled on Friday nights with his sister, Colleen. He also liked going to the casino – he didn’t win much but enjoyed the game.

Survivors are his wife of 41 years, Doris; daughters, Lynn (Nate) Pedersen and Tina Guthmiller; son, Robbie; stepdaughter, Tifanie; grandson, Zayden; granddaughter, Devyn; step-granddaughters, Shonda, Alesha and Taylor; sisters, Sharon (Walt) Leno, Colleen Baker and Renae (Whitey) Volk; fur grandchildren, Molly and Sheldon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; sister, Janice; brothers-in-law, Alan Baker and Gerald Zeeb; nephew, Jarad Dewey; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
