Catherine Thurn, 97, Bismarck, passed away on Nov. 15, 2021.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20 with a visitation an hour before at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave, Bismarck.
Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.
Catherine was born on March 8, 1924, to Frank and Katherine (Dosch) Scherr. She grew up in rural Emmons County, graduating from Linton High school in 1944. Catherine worked in Valley City before moving to Bismarck where she worked at Woodworth’s.
In March 1946, Catherine and Theodore “Ted” Thurn joined in holy matrimony to this union they had a son, Milo, born January 26, 1947.
Catherine worked at Montgomery Ward for 25 years before retiring in 1982.
She always enjoyed the outdoors and loved camping and traveling with her family.
Catherine always had a very strong faith which carried her through the tribulation of Theodore’s passing away in 2006. She entered St. Vincent’s Care Center in April 2020.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Milo; her siblings, Frank, Martin, Elizabeth (Betty); and infant brother, Anthony.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews.
