Anna C. Kohler was born February 21, 1930 in Max, ND to Carl and Lillian (Westman) Gullickson.  She was raised and educated in Benedict, ND.  She married Otto Kohler at a private home ceremony in Velva on September 25, 1948.  They made their home in rural Max, ND where they farmed and raised their two sons, Curtis and Calvin.  They moved into The Meadows in Garrison in 2010. They had a blessed and wonderful life together for almost 68 years before Otto’s death in January of 2016.

Anna was a dedicated homemaker and farm wife.  She liked to bake and made many batches of “biscuits”, which were buns in Anna’s terms.  Anna was most known for her lefse, spending many hours prepping and rolling to perfection.  When her boys were younger she did a lot of sewing.  She would make shirts for her boys to wear and in her later years she became known as the “patch” grandma.  If the grandkids were going to grandma Anna’s, they usually wore something with a tear or hole in it and it always came back all patched up.  She also did quilting with the lady’s at the church, sometimes with squares that Otto would cut for her.  Anna was a loving and caring, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and she will be forever missed but never forgotten.

Anna is survived by her sons, Curtis (Dorothy) Kohler, Max, ND, Calvin (Sandie) Kohler, Mandan, ND; grandchildren, Clinton (Shelly) Kohler, Allan (Holly) Kohler, Corwin (Ronda) Kohler, Lori (Mark) Runnels, and Stacy (A.J.) Majeres; great grandchildren, Haley and Abbey Kohler, Carsen Kohler, Trenton Kohler and Kensley Runnels, and August and Sadie Majeres; sisters-in-law, Jeanie (John) Bush, Martha Kohler and Georgean Gullickson; brothers-in-law, Ervin Weishaar and Melvin Boger.

She was preceded in death by by her husband Otto, sister, Mrytle Boger, brother, Ralph Gullickson, and numerous in-laws.
