Patricia JoAnn (Ovsak) Koranda, 70, Bismarck, died unexpectedly on Oct. 27, 2021. Memorial services will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2 at First Presbyterian Church, 214 E Thayer, Bismarck.
Patti was born in Warren, Minnesota, on January 19, 1951. She attended school in Warren and graduated from North Dakota State University in 1973 majoring in music and elementary education.
On July 7, 1984 she married Donald Koranda in Wadena, MN. They made their home in Bismarck.
Patti had a lifelong love of music and performed with her high school choir and band. She was also part of the NDSU concert choir during her college years and toured internationally with that group. In Bismarck, she was member of the Bismarck Mandan Civic Chorus for many years and was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church choir.
Patti is survived by her son, Daniel Koranda (Krista MacKinnon); stepdaughters, Sheri Koranda Dalen (Randy), Dawn Koranda (John Holland), Lynette Koranda Samuelson (Paul); brother, Robert Ovsak, Mesa, Ariz.; sister, Mary Ovsak Gazda (Steve), Mesa, Ariz.; step-siblings, Thomas (Karen) Drews, Patricia (Ronald) Slusar and David (Nadi) Drews; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Koranda; and her parents, Robert Ovsak and Donna (Copp) Drews.
