A Celebration of Life for Donovan Pfremmer, 57, of Melrose, MN will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. Pastor Jerry Stravia will officiate. Military honors presented by Dickinson American Legion Post #3 Honor Guard. The family requests that you wear vibrant or patriotic colors as this is a representation of Wade’s personality and love for life.
Donovan passed away October 23, 2021 in Belfield, ND.
Donovan Wade Pfremmer was born July 11, 1964, the son of Kent and Marjorie (Moodie) Pfremmer in Orlando, Florida. He grew up throughout the United States following his family to various military bases. After graduation, Donovan enlisted in the US Army where he served 22 years before retirement. He married Sonda Warnke. To this union two children were born, Derek and Tera. Later in life, Donovan met and married Ruth Ann Sand. This union was blessed with six children: Savannah, Donney, Allen, Angelica, Maggie, and Skyla. The family made their home in Sedalia, MO before moving to Minnesota in 2015, making this their home ever since. Donovan most recently worked at Nuverra in Dickinson, ND.
He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and was known to provide much amusement through song and dance, for them. Donovan enjoyed visiting with anyone and everyone he met, he never knew a stranger. He loved riding motorcycle, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and playing cribbage. He was a big sports fan, especially the Vikings, and liked to play practical jokes. Donovan was an amazing story teller who provided entertainment with his quick wit and enthusiasm. He made friends wherever he went and was always willing to help anyone. He was easy going and will always be remembered for his vibrant personality.
Donovan is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann; mother, Marjorie and father, Kent of Lakeland, FL; children Derek (Lynelle) Pfremmer of Dickinson, ND, Tera (Jeremy) Castile of Farragut, TN, Savannah Pfremmer of Belfield, ND, Donney Pfremmer of Dickinson, ND, Allen Pfremmer of Belfield, ND, Angelica Pfremmer of Melrose, MN, Maggie Pfremmer of Melrose, MN, and Skyla Pfremmer of Melrose, MN; 4 grandchildren, Cody, Brielle, Parker, and Max; brothers Robert “Butch” (Stacey) Pfremmer of Bemidji, MN, and Mike (Maria) Pfremmer of Lakeland, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
An additional service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 5, 2021 at Sauk Centre United Methodist Church in Sauk Centre, MN with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Graveside service will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in New Munich, MN.
