Roger Lee Iverson, 84, Minot, died Thursday, October 14, 2021, in a Minot hospital.

Roger was born August 21, 1937, in Crookston, MN to Henning and Harriet (Wood) Iverson.  He was raised near Warren, MN and graduated from Warren High School in 1956.

Roger was drafted into the US Navy Air Force on January 27, 1956, serving honorably until his discharge in 1959. He returned to Minnesota and started a job as a heavy equipment operator for a road construction company.

Roger went back to school attending Bemidji State and later Aaker’s Business College in Fargo.  He moved to Minot in 1962 and went to work as a civil service employee on the Minot Air Force Base for five years until becoming a housing officer.

Roger was united in marriage to Evelyn Streifel on July 8, 1967, in Minot, where they would make their home and raise a family.  Roger started work with Roger O’Dell (Watne Realty) in 1969 as a property manager.  He later owned and operated Iverson’s Property Management for more than 40 years until selling the business to Matt Watne.

Roger was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Elks, Moose Lodge, American Legion, VFW and the Minot Retriever’s Club, all of Minot. He served as a Past President of the Souris Valley Apartment Association. 

Roger enjoyed the outdoors.  He could be found fishing, water skiing or training a dog in preparation for his next hunt. He will be remembered for his love of family and food, especially butter. Roger was grateful for this life and all of his blessings, including his German wirehair, Annie.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Evelyn, Minot; children Laura (Craig) Martin, Brookings, SD; Todd Iverson, Minot, ND and Scott Iverson, Williston, ND; granddaughters Amanda Martin, Jessica Martin and Kayleigh Iverson; sister Gayle (Ron) Owens, Grand Forks, ND; in-laws Norm (Alice) Streifel, Williston, ND, Alvina Mehlfoff, Bismarck, ND, Bob (Rachel) Streifel, Woodbury, MN, Sharon (Lynn) Fischer, Sun City, AZ, Yvonne (Brian) Pederson, Moorhead, MN and Leon (Dawn) Streifel, Fargo, ND along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents and sister Allaire Billingsley.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at St. John The Apostle Catholic Church, Minot.
Interment:  ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, North Dakota
Visitation:  Monday, October 18, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the Bishop Ryan High School Foundation, Second Story of Minot or St. John The Apostle Catholic Church of Minot.
