Frances Eva Grueneich departed this life, arriving safely in the arms of her Savior on October 8, 2021.
She was proceeded in death by Benjamin (Bennie) Grueneich, her husband of 52 years; her parents, Emil and Minnie Kapanke; her four brothers and six sisters.
No services are scheduled at this time.
Frances loved her family. Those that remain to cherish her memory are children, Darlene Thiel (Donavon) of Bismarck, ND/Laughlin, NV, Lyle Grueneich (Billie) of Green Valley, AZ, Myron Grueneich (Nancy) Henrico, NC and her six grandsons, Dean Thiel, Dave Thiel (Sherry), David Grueneich (Kristen), Alan Grueneich (Janelle), Michael Grueneich (Miriam) and Gregory Grueneich (Kerry); 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild (5 generations) born this year whom she was able to hold at a party held in August to celebrate her 100th year.
Frances was born November 24, 1921, on a farm south of Russo, ND. Following her marriage to Bennie they farmed north of Washburn, retiring in 1980, when they moved to Washburn and then later to Bismarck. Frances was active in the Washburn Baptist Church and later at Bismarck Baptist Church. She spent the past eight years at Bismarck Baptist Health Care Center where her interest in the staff and their families was important to her, learning all their names as well as those of their children. The staff became extended family to her. We are grateful that her mind and wit was with her until the end.
Frances loved playing games with her family and friends. Bowling, golf, birds and flowers were also things she enjoyed. She was excellent at embroidery and hand-made lovely quilts for the children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook and taught the family to carry on the traditions of authentic food.
Many of her family and friends attended her 100th year birthday celebration. A graveside service for immediate family will be held at a later date.
