Gale Carow, 65, Burlington, died Tuesday, October 12, 2021, in a Minot hospital.

Gale was born February 10, 1956, in Minot, ND to Lawrence and Clara (Bechtle) Vetter. She attended Bishop Ryan High School in Minot and graduated with the class of 1974.  She attended college at Minot State University.

Gale joined the working world as an associate of Sears Roebuck after college. She advanced her career through sales to management over her 30 years with the company. Gale spent the last 15 years of her working career as a billing clerk for Keycare Pharmacy in Minot. She retired on August 1, 2021.

Gale was united in marriage to Alvin ‘Butch’ Carow on July 9, 1994, in Minot.  This union was blessed with two daughters, Mikki and Melissa. They made their home in Burlington.  Gale assisted her husband with the operation of Carow trucking for many years.  Butch passed away on July 12, 2019.

They valued the time spent at their lake place near Riverdale taking countless evening sunset rides in their red convertible around Lake Sakakawea and the Missouri River. Weekends were often spent at craft shows or annual church bazaars. Gale deeply valued the years spent with her family.  Cooking classes with her daughter, a crossword book or a sudoku puzzle filled her personal time but all took a backseat to her grandchildren, who she loved so deeply.  She will be deeply missed by all who shared in her life.

Gale’s is survived by daughters Mikki (Vern) Patterson, Minot, ND and Melissa Carow, Burlington; grandchildren Riley and Braden Patterson; siblings Alice Vetter, Centralia, WA, Larry Vetter, James (Darlene) Vetter, and June Vetter, all of Minot, ND; extended family includes Jessica (Bo Schmidt) Carow and Kirk Carow and their families along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Gale was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin ‘Butch’ Carow and sisters Susan and Patty Vetter.
