Clarisse Bell, 57, Minot, formerly of Norway ME, died Sunday, October 3, 2021, in a Minot hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Clarisse was born March 5, 1964, in Lewiston, ME to Joseph A.R. and Lorraine (Breton) Gagne. She was raised in Norway, ME and graduated from Oxford Hills High School, class of 82. During her school years, she enjoyed performing as a fire twirling Majorette.
Growing up Clarisse loved going to the ocean to hunt for seashells or listen to the roar of the waves crashing as she reads a good book. She especially loved walking along the rocks at Reid State Park, her favorite beach. She enjoyed many of afternoons playing with her cousins in which she was the only girl but, that did not slow her down one bit.
Clarisse began her nursing studies at Central Maine Medical Center School of Nursing. She married her High School sweetheart, Randy, who had joined the Air Force. They moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming where she finished her nursing degree at Laramie County Community College, graduating in 1985. Shortly after, they transferred to Biloxi, MS, where she worked as an RN at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, surviving hurricane Elena. They were transferred to Northern Maine, she worked at the hospital in Presque Isle where she had many good friends. Upon closure of the base, they moved to Minot, ND, where she worked at the Minot Center for Family Medicine, later moving to Trinity Health clinics. She always said “Make a difference” in every day. Clarisse was the October 2018 Daisy Award recipient. She and Randy celebrated 38 years of marriage in May.
Clarisse loved people and enjoyed cooking. She especially liked helping at the Faith Methodist Church soup kitchen, a Taste of Heaven along with the Lord’s Cupboard food pantry. She was a caring and loving friend to everyone she knew. She will always be remembered for her infectious laughter, warm smile and hugs.
Clarisse had 3 cats over the years, Snuggles, Fudges and most recently Mel. They were near and dear to her heart, and she loved them very much, getting her through some of the tough times.
Clarisse’s loving family includes her husband Randy, Minot; son Benjamin, Minot; daughter Devin, Waltham MA; sister Christine (Judy) Gagne, Turner ME; brother, Patrick (Brenda) Gagne, No. Berwick ME; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Clarisse was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
In lieu of plants and flowers, Memorials are preferred to the Taste of Heaven Soup Kitchen of Faith United Methodist Church, Minot or the family would like to encourage people to donate blood in her memory to those in need.
