Brenda Binder-Steckler of Bismarck passed away on September 26, 2021, at the age of 54.

A memorial/vigil service will be held at 6:30 PM, Monday, October 4, 2021, at Bismarck Funeral Home, Bismarck.  Family will greet visitors one hour prior to the service. For those unable to attend, a live stream of the service will be on Bismarck Funeral Home and Crematory Facebook page. For those attending, masks are appreciated.

A burial service will be held in Minot in June of 2022.

Brenda was born on February 3, 1967, to Paul and Karen (Schaefer) Binder. She lived in various locations throughout her life.  Brenda attended the Culinary Arts School in Wahpeton ND. Upon graduation, Brenda moved out to the east coast to fully take advantage of her passion for cooking and being a chef. Brenda moved back to North Dakota to be closer to family and for the last ten years she was working for the North Dakota Department of Transportation Driver’s License Division.

Brenda’s biggest love was her family and friends, and she was happy when kids were around. Her fur baby, Lucy, was one of her favorites. Brenda was always up to watch a movie or go out and play darts with friends. After her time in culinary school, she never lost her zest for cooking and also loved to bake.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Jody; stepdaughter, Kortney Steckler; siblings, Debbie (Orlin), Charles (Keri) and Mary (Scott); many nieces and nephews and her in-laws.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
