Liturgy of the word for Carletta Decker, 64, of Dickinson, will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Stevenson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Stevenson Funeral Home.
Carletta passed away September 12, 2021 at Sanford Health in Bismarck.
Carletta Decker was born June 12, 1957 to Adam and Caroline Wanner in Dickinson, ND. She married Rodney Decker and to this union Michael J. and Zachery A. were born. She was a graduate of Dickinson State University. Her most recent employment was at the ARC Aid Thrift Shop, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. Carletta believed in hard work, honesty and gave 100% to any job she worked at. She enjoyed working with people with disabilities and always had a special place in her heart for people less fortunate. She was a great defender of those in need. Carletta served on a few boards in the past and used these positions as a growth tool.
Family and friends were of utmost importance to Carletta.
She loved the casinos and going to Las Vegas with her friends, Doug and Karen. Carletta always came out a winner whether she won or not. She loved flowers and always had many different varieties in her yard. Carletta loved to travel to different places and although she wasn’t able to go everywhere she wanted, she is now in a place where she can go to all the places she ever wanted to go to. Fly High! Antique collecting was also a passion and her house was always filled with her treasures. Carletta loved art work and had a great eye for the best paintings.
Carletta is survived by her sons, Michael and Zachery; brothers, Dale (Pat), David (Char), Dennis (Melanie), Duane and Donavan; sisters, Connie Melchior and Collette (Mike) Renner; nieces and nephews, Scott, Darcy, Curt (Godchild), Cassie, Megan, Sydney, Tristan, Nicole, Denise, Ella, David James, Tyler, Scott Patrick, Mariah, Kristi (Godchild), Fawn, Jess, Casey and several great-nieces and nephews; and her dog Petie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her dogs, Heidi and Sam; sister-in-law, Penny; and many special friends.
Carletta’s favorite saying was “Rise above it and always be the bigger person, no matter how much hurt someone has caused.”
