Randy Ryuichi Sharp, 22, Bismarck, left this world on Aug. 16, 2021. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 21, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck.
He was born in Bismarck on July 21, 1999, to Mike and Terumi Sharp-Miyaguni. Randy graduated from Legacy High School and attended Bismarck State College.
He was an accomplished soccer player throughout high school, and he played on the varsity team sophomore through senior year. Randy was involved in many athletics, and his coaches praised and applauded all of the effort he put into them; he never left a job unfinished. He earned the Hardest Worker Award for every sport, and he received the Best Supporting Actor when he was with the Shade Tree Players. He was passionate about whiskey, construction, and guitars. So passionate, in fact, he could smell the whiskey and tell you where it was from and how it was made. He knew how to fix anything with just a glance; when he was a child, he tinkered with the pinball machine until he found a way to get the ball inside. He learned everything you could possibly learn about guitars in less than two years. He purchased his first guitar, which he lovingly named Susan, from his sister, and he wasted no time before turning it into his dream guitar. Always the smartest person in the room, he could debate any topic at the drop of a hat. When he found an interest, nothing could hold him back. He spent his time with his friends, and he spent even more with the love of his life, Keylee Engelhard. They enjoyed a trip to Montana together, and Randy never stopped reminiscing about how much fun they had. His beautiful smile lit up entire rooms. His family will always remember him as the best son, brother, and friend any person could ever have. His family and friends hope and pray he finds what he was missing.
He was survived by his sisters, Kira and Mariann Sharp (Bismarck); his parents, Mike and Terumi Sharp-Miyaguni (Bis.); his aunts and uncles, Melissa and Tom Sharp (Mandan), Ichiro Miyaguni (Miyokojima), Tsuyoshi and Michiyo Miyaguni (Miy.), Yuko Miyaguni (Miy.), Toru and Chieko Miyaguni (Miy.); his grandparents, Ann Sharp (Bis.), Tadashi and Toshiko Miyaguni (Miy.).
He was preceded in death by his aunt, Meriann; grandfather, Steve Sharp; his great-grandparents, Pete and Kenegunda Miller, Bob and Joyce Sharp.
In honor of Randy’s love for music, if you have a favorite band shirt, please wear it to the service.
