Amy Marie (Metz) Axness, 42, Bismarck, died Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Sanford Medical Center, Bismarck. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at 1:30 p.m., Monday, August 9, 2021 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Brother Howard Metz, CSE presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior the service.
Amy Marie Metz was born November 24, 1978 in Dickinson, the daughter of Thomas and Dianne (Olson) Metz. She was raised and educated in South Heart, having graduated from South Heart High School. She continued her education at Bismarck State College.
At the time of her death, she was employed with the State of North Dakota as a Medicaid Administrator, having worked for the state for over 19 years.
She had a special fondness for her schnauzers and cats. She loved to garden, bake and collect Pillsbury collectables.
Amy is survived by her companion and love of her life, Rockey Hewson, Bismarck; parents, Thomas and Dianne Metz, South Heart; siblings, Thomas J. (Amy) Metz and their children, Colter, Campbell, Boedy and Garrett, Mott; April (Alden) Hewson and their children, Earlen and Emmalee, Wildrose; and Aaron (Chloe) Metz and their son, Sawyer, Wishek; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
