Janifer Hugh, age 50, of Bismarck, ND passed away on August 4, 2021.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 106 Osage Ave, Bismarck. Casual dress suggested. Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery. A live stream of the service will be available on the Bismarck Funeral Home Facebook page. Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1620 Milwaukee Ave, Aberdeen, SD will also be live streaming the service in their Chapel at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 11.
Janifer (Odell) Hugh was born on January 5, 1971, to Eugene & Dianne and was the New Year’s baby in Lemmon, SD. She graduated in 1989 from Aberdeen Central High School. Jan became the proud mother of Cody Fipps on June 19, 1993. She was a devoted, loving mother and Cody was the true light of her life.
She had a successful 21-year career at Midco and was well respected by her colleagues. She also enjoyed working part-time at the Missouri Valley Family YMCA in Bismarck teaching many different fitness classes throughout the years. Jan treasured her family and friends and spending time with them meant the world to her. She loved to camp, kayak, horseback ride and dance. Jan was a true people person, her smile lit up any room she was in, and her laugh was infectious. She was a child at heart and could bring fun and joy to any situation.
Jan will be deeply missed by her son, Cody (Sierra Dauenhauer) Fipps; her parents, Lonny and Dianne Helfinstine; siblings, Jeff Odell and Cyndi (Todd Holtz) Bishop; niece, Ashlyn Bishop; nephew, Andrew Bishop and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Odell; grandparents Dr. H.J. “Doc” & Alta Christen; Marvin & Beulah Kling; and Leroy & Loma Helfinstine.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to help offset funeral expenses or to the Central Dakota Humane Society.
